Resolving feedback
Every comment has a state, and the state is the same on every format. It is how the team knows what is done, what is being worked on, and what is waiting on an answer.
The five comment states
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Open | New feedback that nobody has started on yet. |
| In progress | Someone is working on the fix. |
| Needs info | The fix is blocked on a question. Reply in the thread to unblock it. |
| Resolved | The change is done. The comment leaves the active list but stays in the history. |
| Won't fix | The team decided not to make this change. Add a reply saying why. |
Resolve a comment
- Make the fix in your file.
- Upload the new version. Unresolved comments carry forward onto it.
- Mark the comment Resolved, ideally with a short reply saying where to check.
Reopen a comment
If a fix did not land, the reviewer can reopen the resolved comment. It goes back to the active list with its full history, so nobody has to write the note again.
