Managing draft versions

Every time you upload a new cut of the same deliverable, Magpiie stacks it on top of the last one. The latest version is always obvious, and every earlier one is kept with its feedback.

What each version records

• Version number, assigned automatically in chronological order.
• Uploader and timestamp, so you know who uploaded it and when.
• Comment history: every note left on that version, with its state.
• Release notes that travel with the version and tell reviewers what changed.

Why stacking beats file names

Without it, versions live in file names like final_FINAL_v3_fixed.mp4, and someone always reviews the wrong one. In Magpiie there is one draft per deliverable, and reviewers are always pointed to the latest version.

Good habits

• One draft per deliverable. The 16:9 cut and the vertical short are different drafts; v3 and v4 of the same cut are versions.
• Write release notes on every upload, even one line such as "Fixed the lower third and the music level".
• Resolve or answer the comments on a version before you upload the next one.
