Uploading your first draft

Uploading a draft is how every review starts. Drag a file into a project and Magpiie handles the bookkeeping: the version number, the uploader, the timestamp, and the status.

Upload a draft

1. 1Open the project the draft belongs to. No project yet? See Creating your first project.
2. 2Drag the file into the upload area, or click upload and choose it. It can be a video, a short, a thumbnail, a script, or an audio track.
3. 3Wait for the upload to finish. Large files take longer, but uploads are resumable, so a dropped connection does not restart them.
4. 4Magpiie processes the file and opens it in the review view for its format.

What happens next

• The file becomes version 1 of a new draft.
• It opens in the right view: a player for video and shorts, a document for scripts, a waveform for audio, and an image view for thumbnails.
• Project members can start leaving pinned comments right away. See Leaving pinned comments.

Before you upload

• Check the file type is supported. See Supported content formats.
• Give the file a clear name. It is what reviewers will see.
• Uploading a new cut of something already in Magpiie? Upload it as a new version of the existing draft instead. See Replacing a draft with a new revision.
